Tours in the Institute of Nuclear Physics CAS
On 2.12, in the context of familiarizing the future particle physicists with acceleration technologies, Dr. Jaroslav Bielčík made a guided tour to the Institute of Nuclear Physics, partner institutions in BNL-CZ. CTU students visited the cyclotron and tandetron accelerators.
STAR analysis collaboration meeting in LBNL
A group of students and researchers from the STAR experiment FNSPE CTU and NPI CAS on November 9-13, 2016 attended collaboration analysis meeting at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), CA, USA. They presented their scientific results reached by the use of infrastructure BNL-CZ. Namely: Mgr. Jaroslav Bielčík, PhD., RNDr. Petr Chaloupka, PhD., Mgr. Pavol Federič, PhD., doc. Michal Šumbera, CSc. DSc., Bc. Alena Harlenderová, Ing. Lukáš Kramárik, Bc. Jakub Kvapil, Ing. Jindřich Lidrych and Bc. Oliver Matonoha.
Hot Quarks 2016 workshop
On 12-17.9.2016 an ultrarelativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions workshop was sponsored by NPI CAS with Dr. Jana Bielčiková as a one of the main organizers. Workshop was held in South Padre Island, TX, USA with participation of Ing. Miroslav Šimko (NPI), Ing. Jindřich Lidrych (FNSPE) a Dr. Robert Vertesi (FNSPE).
Ohio - Successful presentation at the collaboration meeting
In the week of August 15 was held in Ohio, USA STAR collaboration meeting. Research teams from the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences presented their results. Namely for FNSPE:
Mgr. Pavla Federičová, PhD. - J/psi analysis in Run12 Cu+Au 200 GeV,
Ing. Jindřich Lidrych - K femtoscopy in Au+Au 200GeV,
for NPI CAS:
RNDr. Jana Bielčíková, Ph.D - STC Report
Mgr. Pavol Federič, PhD. - D+/- meson in Run14 Au+Au 200 GeV a D* meson in Run15 p+p 200 GeV,
Ing. Miroslav Šimko - Lambda_c analysis methods a L_c in Run14 Au+Au 200 GeV,
Ing. Jan Rusnák - Charged Jet Spectra Update,

Ing. Miroslav Šimko as Chief technician of ZDC detector.
One of the tasks of the Czech group at the STAR experiment is the maintanance and careless operation of the ZDC detector. This is an important component of both STAR and the RHIC accelerator thus it is needed to be stand by during the RHIC run for 24 hours a day on the phone in BNL.
